It seemed like all movieblogs were writing about this for months. So I somehow picked up the enthusiasm and was looking forward to see this movie, although I am not that much into comics.
I somehow expected a Dark Knight movie. I have to say, it was not. But it still is worth seeing. And it is very good to see it in cinemas. The pictures are really impressive, the characters are interesting, with flaws and egoism. It’s a different superhero-movie in any view. Go and watch Watchmen.
I give it 9 out of 10.столове

Its been a long time since my last movie weekend. So I enjoyed this one very much.
Movie 1: Superbad. A great movie by the team around Judd Apatow (40 year old Virgin and Knocked Up) - it’s like a good version of American Pie (which I liked, when I was that age). Now seeing the boys having trouble with getting closer to girls is a lot of fun. By far not well-behaved, but never clumsy. 9 out of 10.
Movie 2: Funny Games US. I really like the original. I think it is the best Austrian movie (and the best Michael Haneke movie). So I was wondering how a complete remake is done, with Hollywood actors like Tim Roth, Naomie Watts and Michael Pitt. Well - it’s the same. Same dialouges, same camera. It doesn’t really matter, which one of the two movies you take … therefore also 9 out of 10.
Movie 3: The Reader. I don’t like movies about the Holocaust. I don’t know - it’s just a topic that’s treated too often in a wrong way. Most times Nazis are shown as superhuman devils without any depth. I just watched The reader because I had a “Oscar Ticket” for movies that were nominated and The Reader and The Wrestler were the only two left. But I was suprised how good the movie was and with how much flair the topic is treated. Kate Winslet is one of the best actresses at the moment and she deserves the award: 9 out of 10.
Movie 4: The Wrestler. Darren Aronofsky made one of the best movies ever made: Requiem for a Dream. Now I was really looking forward to “The Wrestler”. Mickey Rourke was nominated for the Oscar and the critics were continuously good. A friend also recommended me the movie. Maybe my expectations were to hight, but among these great (and very different) movies of my weekend this one was the worst. But still very, very good. I liked the whole scenery and the way his wracked life is shown. But, I can only give 7 out of 10.

Yesterday I left a movie before the end for the first time - and I made it through Spiderman 3 and Haunted Mansion. Unfortunately I will never tell anybody, which movie I left, because everybody would just say: “Well, a movie with this title … why did you even consider watching it?”
And it is true. There are lots of stars in it. Probably they hoped it will make the movie better - always a wrong idea!
Anyway I saw Seven pounds and The curious case of Benjamin Button as well recently, but I didn’t have time to post it since there is lots of work to do.
So here is just a quick rating:
The movie I saw yesterday: online casino net1 out of 10 (one point for the massive amount of clichees in it and since it is the first movie I left)
Seven Pounds: 3 out of 10 (the first three quaters were just too boring to get a better rating for the dramatic end)
The curious case of Benjamin Button: 7 out of 10 (its good and worth seeing it, but I don’t think I’ll watch it again)

I’m so excited! There is a trailer for Inglorious Basterds - the next Quentin Tarantino flick - out. And it kicks ass (IMHO).
I’m so desperately waiting for this movie. Death Proof was not as good as expected, but Inglorious Basterds could become a new Kill Bill.

Wow … More than a month without a post … I tend to be lazy again - so it seems. But in fact I am very very busy at work. Soon I will write something about the project I am currently working on. It will be online soon.
I haven’t been to the cinema for more than a month too - which approves my busy situation. Anyway - I got a Nintendo Wii for Christmas (will post about that too soon) and Barack Obama is finally preisdent of the United States! Happy 2009!
