When Friends ended in 2004, a great TV show found an end. I liked watching it and I think I saw every single episode. After Friends, I couldn’t imagine something similar would come up. Of course, there are really great TV shows like Scrubs, Malcolm in the Middle and so on. But those are good in a different way.
Then, a couple of weeks ago I saw How I met your mother for the first time. I’ve heard of it before, and it was said to be really good, but it just didn’t make me that curious to watch it. From the first episode on I wanted to see more. First season was good, second season great, third season was not as good as season two, but still great. Now I can’t wait for season four. I know it’s already out there.
Best two episodes ever are “Slapbet” and “Smarley”. But start at the beginning, if you liked friends, you will like How I met your mother. It’s simply legen … wait for it … dary.

You know, I really like to go to the cinemas. I like almost all kind of movies there (of course this also depends a littlebit on the people I go with). But when I think about it, I hardly ever saw a horror-movie in a theatre. Is this just a genre you like better watching at home (or at least I do)? Just to think about it.
This week I was 2 times to the movies. The new Bond-flick and The Strangers. Second one was more or less random because they didn’t have any good seats in Max Payne, so we decided to watch any other movie that doesn’t sound too bad.
At first, I was excited. The Strangers starts as a classic psycho-thriller-horror-movie with high tension. The audience in the theatre was great - screaming and frightening (both followed by laughing). But then the good ideas (actually they were no new ideas, but good anyway) were used to often and it was kind of like they didn’t know how to finish the movie at the end.
I give my rating now and will say, what I would have done with the story, but this includes spoilers, so if you want to see the movie, don’t go on reading. My rating: 6 out of 10.
This might contain spoilers! I would have let the strangers do no harm to the victims. Like killing Mike, the couple would hurt itself by accident because they freak out and run around with knifes, shooting on everything moving. I guess this would make the strangers a “cool” type of villians - those who don’t kill, those who don’t hurt or torture. I’d say, that would have make the movie better. They worked towards this idea very long, but messed it up at the end.

I liked Casino Royal, I liked it a lot. In fact, it was one of the best movies I saw in 2006 (except for the loooooooong ending). The “new” Bond was still cool, but not in an awkward way (like Brosnan was). Daniel Craig was a good choice (I have to dmit before Casino Royal I would have like Clive Owen better, but now I think, Craig is just as good, if not better).
So my expectations for Quantum of Solace were high. When I heard Marc Foster will do it, my expectations got even higher. Then Jack White will to the theme song - looked like they would do everything right again. But, as it is with high expectations, they are very likely to be disappointed. The latest Bond is just another actionmovie with some dialouges in between fast and brutal scenes to bring the “story” forward.
Of course I will watch the next Bond as well. I did watch all the Brosnan Bonds too (just to say it, QoS is still better than any Brosnan-Bond). But as for this Craig-Bond, I just have 5 out of 10 points. Sorry.
