The iPhone arrives

Apple iPhoneThe highly anticipated iPhone will get on sale in the US soon. The first reviews arrived and mostly they are positive. The pros made me even more feel like i-cant-wait, but some of the cons got my enthusiasm a little ticking-off. I don’t care if MMS isn’t working or the camera can’t do video-clips, I don’t use those features anyway, but there are thre disadvantages I care about:

Like the SIM-Card and the accumulator are built-in. So (like with the iPod) if the accu is broken you have to send your phone to apple, for a fee of course …

Furthermore I’ve heard that bluetooth headphones won’t work, so what is with hands-free-equipment in cars?

And the missing search function in contacts sucks. But I want to see first if there is any feature that minimizes this lack (like a “often called”-list or something like that).

Mac OS X Leopard

osx_leopard.jpgI’ve been a Windows user from start. My first computer was a Schneider EuroPC II, running MS DOS (I think 3.whatever). Later I used MS DOS 6.22, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 and now Windows XP (and I am pretty satisfied with it).

I worked on a Mac during an internship which was running Mac OS 9 - and it was horrible. It hung up so often I seriously cursed it. Plus I hated the single-button-mouse.

Anyway, I’ve been waiting for Windows Vista/Longhorn since I heard from it and was pretty satisfied about the ideas. Now when it came out, I was pretty disappointed. The new look and some neat ideas make not clear, why this OS needs so much power.

Since the release of the Tiger, while the development process of vista, I’ve had an eye on the Mac OS. Yesterday apple released some features of the new OSX, named Leopard. I trust apple they will release the OS with all the features the announced now (other than Microsoft), so I think my next computer should be white and have some fruit on it.

I quit!

Days went by and Paris Hilton is back in prison (and I repeat it: quite rightly).

beer.jpgLast weekend I was at a wedding (great party, thanks again Lucy and Meis) and yesterday we celebrated a well-working presentation a littlebit. Those two events made me decide to lower my alcohol consume. The novarock festival at the upcomming weekend will be my farewell party to intoxication. Hehe … sounds dramatic. Anyway, after Sunday I will try to limit myself to two beers per night. And I publish it here, so I will remember when I made my resolve. I’ll keep you updated on the results.

And my pal worufu has updated his weblog. Check it out.

Paris Hilton out of jail

paris_hilton.jpgI seriously don’t like this person. A friend of mine always breaks conversations about her, because “that’s what she wants”. She want people talking about her.

But the recent events make it impossible for me to ignore her. After being caught DUI twice she got sentenced to prison for 40 days, 23 days to spend there at least. Now, after 3 days, she is free again. Well, I guess some animals are more equal than others.

Gay teletubbies?

teletubbies.jpgHaha, from time to time some news spread over the world that are so weired, they can only be true. Like these days, some poland politician talks out loud that she thinks one of the teletubbies is gay and this should be a reason for abandon them from polish TV.

I mean, they are annoying and their educational qualification is doubtful, but gay? I didn’t even think the have gender. Or sex … hihi, imagine that, with their antennas on the head … anyway, it shows how far some people are with their tolerance. Even politicians, even politicians in the EU. Bad example for our kids! They should be abandoned.

Some of the lots of sources:
