Oh my freaking god. Today a man took hostages in a bank in Vienna. Scary enough, a reporter of a newspaper (Österreich - not a good one) was able to call (!!!) the hostage taker and make a quick interview. Sounds like part of a movie? But it truely happened. How is this possible, have I watched to much movies or shouldn’t the police be the only ones talk to a criminal while the crime is in action?
The interview is published here, I translated it but am not sure if I’m allowed to publish it (if you know, please tell me). It’s crap anyway. Just scary this newspaper is able to do something like that.
UPDATE: Yeah, sure! Now the interview has been taken away …
The Oscar is over. The event itself is boring, but I like the recent changes of winners. Like last year, when Crash made the race against Brokeback mountain (haven’t seen it till now, and I think I probably never will).
So I was happy to see my favourite 2006 movie The departed winning. As well as some awards for Little Miss Sunshine (missed that one too in the theatres, but its very likable). Well, that’s it for now. Now I keep enjoying my holidays …

Yesterday was the Semesterparty of Negative Action Group, a union of metal bands in Linz. The Semester Party has already a tradition, some bands perform on stage and there’s a limited amount of free-beer. Well, I’ve been there, and it was a lot of fun. The band I liked most was tumult, somehow like the Austrian Deftones.
And it was great to be at a concert again. I should go to the Posthof more often! Should be another intention for this year.

Quite some time since I’ve been to the movies … yesterday I saw the new Marc Forster Flick. He did a good job in Finding Neverland and Stay was one of the greatest movies I’ve seen last year. He tends to work with interesting actors (Billy Bob Thornton, Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts …).
The cast for Stranger than Fiction did not look so bad either: Will Ferrel, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman, Queen Latifah and Emma Thompson. The idea is pretty cool to: A man starts to hear a voice, a narrator, who describes what he is doing. More and more this voice influences his life and he finds out, he is the main character of a story somebody writes at the moment.
To give a quick rating: 6 out of 10. The movie has really good ideas, good scenes and funny dialouges, but is not as good as expected.
And some other news: The Killers will be at the novarock festival. Great!

Back from a fantastic weekend in Vienna (thanks for hospitality). Finally I got the opportunity for playing Poker, a thing I wanted to do for a loooong time.
Anyway, when I came back I checked the usual websites and found something new, something cool coming up, I’ve been tracking since I heard from it first: Grindhouse, a back-to-back double-film-feature of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. In betweeen there will be fake trailers.
Anyway, there are two trailers out for this movie-event. And both look like the movies will be something different to what the current trend is in cinema (quite like Sin City was). I can’t wait till April, when the flicks will be released to the audience.
