The highly anticipated iPhone will get on sale in the US soon. The first reviews arrived and mostly they are positive. The pros made me even more feel like i-cant-wait, but some of the cons got my enthusiasm a little ticking-off. I don’t care if MMS isn’t working or the camera can’t do video-clips, I don’t use those features anyway, but there are thre disadvantages I care about:
Like the SIM-Card and the accumulator are built-in. So (like with the iPod) if the accu is broken you have to send your phone to apple, for a fee of course …
Furthermore I’ve heard that bluetooth headphones won’t work, so what is with hands-free-equipment in cars?
And the missing search function in contacts sucks. But I want to see first if there is any feature that minimizes this lack (like a “often called”-list or something like that).

I had a fantastic weekend at the Attersee lake with some former colleagues from university. Every year we meet at the lake to celebrate a reunion (MTD = Mediatechnology and -design, our university-branch).
The weather was (as always for this occasion) not so good, as well as the timing with stress in work, but its always worth the trip to catch up with old pals and have some fun. Like playing “Die Werwölfe vom Düsterwald” (Werwolves of Düsterwald, also known as Mafia), one of the best group games I’ve played so far. Just check out the rules at Wikipedia, it’s easy to play and you don’t need to buy anything.
And another cool experience was only drinking 3 beer the whole weekend. It was kind of hard not to drink a second one right after the first, but the next day I was happy not having a hangover and still had a lot of fun.

I really enjoy to say this: I AM HAPPY. The weather is fine, the company is running good and besides all the work I still find time for some spare time activities.
Like two days ago we were bowling, yesterday we played poker again (i also bought a texas hold’em version for my cellphone and now already played couple of hours within a few days). Anyway my alcohol decicion is also going well. I kept the level low to zero, and I’m wondering how this weekend will go, when I am at a class reunion at the attersee lake.

As I mentioned last week, I will try to reduce my alcohol consume. I already thought about exceptions (which is shocking enough), but I found a rule I think I can live with and is smart: I will keep the consume down, so I will always be allowed to drive by law.
Austrian law allows 0.5 ‰. For a man my size and weight this would be about 2 beers in 3 hours. So I’d say 2 beer per evening is fine, on BBQs 3 beers.
Last weekend was my final intoxication (at the novarock festival). I already tried to keep my consume lower than I would have done normal, so I didn’t buy beer at the area itself (I only drank at the tent, which was enough anyway). What I found out so far: I need way more money! Coke and soda don’t take away the thirst as beer does. But good thing was I could enjoy the bands better.

I came back from the Novarock yesterday. Unfortunately I had to leave before The Killers and Mando Diao, because I would have been to tired to drive after the concerts. Too hot, too much dancing, too much walking (about 2 km from car to tent)
At least I saw The Smashing Pumpkins, one of the most important bands in my music-life. And I have to say, they kicked ass. I think this was the best concert I’ve seen so far.
Also good were: Therapy and Clawfinger (of course they were, they always are), Incubus, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linking Park, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, The Editors (although I haven’t seen much of them). Anyway, I still feel stiff and aching, but I can’t wait for the next festival (Sziget or probably Urban Art Forms in Wiesen). And I think next years Novarock will have me again (if the lineup is right).
