Yesterday I was at the movie theatre again. And now I saw the Simpsons movie, one of the highest anticipated movie of the year. I didn’t expect much because I just couldn’t imagine how a concept that works perfect for 30 minutes episodes could possibly work for a whole movie. Lucky me I was proven wrong. It worked! The creators did a great job!
I think the movie was better than some of the episodes … there were lots of sidekicks and hidden jokes, I really liked that and enjoyed the evening. I give it 9 out of 10 points because it there are still some of episodes that were better …

On my short-vacation last week I finally finished a book again. Lately I hardly ever read … I don’t know why, because actually I really enjoy reading. Its just something I don’t take much time for.
Anyway, the book I finished was The Wee Free Man by Terry Pratchett. Since I’m a big fan of Douglas Adams’ books, people always told me I should read a Pratchet, and I will like it. And there were lots of stories about funny plots in Pratchets books, so I was kind of excited to finally start a book of him.
I was quite suprised it was not a fantasy or science fiction book as I expected, but more a childs book a fairytail. Funny, nevertheless, and extremely entertaining. I will defenitely read more Pratchetts (next to come will possibly be Pyramids, but right now I’ve started “Worlds End” by TC Boyle, one of my favourite authors).
Well, Wee Free Man is - as I already mentioned - veryentertaining and I can highly recommend it to anybody who likes fantastic stories. I’d give it good 8 out of 10 points.
And I just found out: The Wee Free Man is going to be turned into a movie, by Spiderman director Sam Raimi - we’ll see what that means :).

I’ve been expecting this movie ever since the weinstein brothers left miramax, formed the weinstein company and announced a back-to-back flick by tarantino and rodriguez. In between this two movies there should be fake trailer by various directors such as Eli Roth or Rob Zombie. After some times there were rumors the movies will get split into two, at least in some countries. When it hit the cinemas in the US, the box disappointing office results forced the producers (or gave them a reason) two make the rumors come true. I was wondering, what will happen to the highly enticipated fake trailers.
Well, yesterday I was in the derStandard - Premiere of Death Proof, part one of the movie, done by Quentin Tarantino. And unfortunately, there were no trailers at all. But what I saw was a kick-ass movie. It started with Pulp Fiction-like dialogues, had cool characters as in Reservoir dogs and action scenes as in Kill Bill. Tarantino de luxe … well not quite, I kinda liked the three mentioned movies better. It is really good, don’t get me wrong. Way better than Jackie Brown! But still, I just don’t know. Maybe it needs the second movie to satisfy me best.
Anyway, it is worth seeing it. I’d give it good 8 out of 10 points.

Just came back from my short vacation in Hungary. It was great, relaxing and a lot of fun. I will post some pictures soon.
Right now I’m a littlebit stressed out, since I had a full programm from the moment I came back: car-watching, working, company-summer-party (hehe) … I will give more detailed updates as soon as I find time.
Tonight I’m going to watch Death Proof (half of Grindhouse, the new Tarantino/Rodriguez flick), I will defenitely give a review tomorrow.

It is done. As I’m writting this, I’m sitting in front of a brand new MacBook Pro. Well, actually it is not brandnew, it is almost a day old. But yesterday was for experimenting and getting into it. And I have to say: it rocks. It doesn’t take too much time to get into it (one of the first things to do for a Windows user is activate the second mouse button in the system settings). Once you found out, how the whole dmg/applications thingie works, it’s a peace of cake to install software … and it makes sense …
Anyway I want to give a small start help for all others who switch. I wont put all in this single post, but step one is some neat (and already known) software (all freeware):
More to come soon.
