Just to let you know: number one searchword for ape13 is “sexy”. BAMM BAMM! I knew I am!
But frankly I think the reason is my merry xmas posting from December 2005. Anyway, another approval for “Sex sells”. This is why I added another sexy image and even named it “sexy.jpg”. I have it from phun.org by the way. A pretty funny (sometimes), pretty sexy (most times) site that has funny pics every wednesday.

This weekend I saw 4 movies, which couldn’t possibly be more different. I want to give a very quick review and rating of each one.
Scary movie 4
Where are the times, when parodies where like Hot Shots, Hot Shots 2 or Top Secret. Funny and made a littlebit affectionated. All this crap that came out recently was embarrasing. I give it 2 out of 10 points, some jokes went right, but way too few.
Hostel
I wanted to see it, since it is presented by Quentin Tarantino. But most of the people who saw it said I shouldn’t. Some of them found it was too bloody, some said it is too boring (because of too much blood). I think it was well done. A movie like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Friday the 13th, but a modern version. I give it 7 out of 10.
Alpha Dog
A friend recommended me Alphadog, but I wasn’t quite sure, since we have a different taste in movies. Anyway this time I agree with him. 8 out of 10 points.
Thumbsucker
People who know me or read this blog from time to time know how much I like this little alternative movies like “Little Miss Sunshine” or “Garden State“. “Thumbsucker” fits well in this category and gets 9 out of 10 points from me.

Next of the apes things is a navigation system. I have it now for about half a year and there were already quite some sutiations wouldn’t want to miss it. The TomTom GO 910 is equiped with a hard disk, so you don’t need to change memory cards if you have far journeys. There is also the possibility to use it as a MP3-player and as hands-free-set for mobile phones. I don’t use both of these features, since if it is not wired with the car audio system, the sound quality is way to bad.
Which brings me to the disadvantages: Big disadvantage number one: cable salat. There is a cable for power supply (without it you can use TomTom for about 2 or 3 hours). If you want to use the bonus features there is another cable for the microphone (hands free set), a cable for the antenna (if you want traffic alerts affect the route). Well I wouldn’t know another solution, but it is definitely a disadvantage to built-in systems.
Big disadvantage number two, and this sucks: The windscreen dock isn’t able to hold the weight of the system. I can’t understand why they put in a dock that doesn’t work properly with the product itself. So you have to put it right above the dashboard, so this one can hold the weight. The dock is just for fixing the position of the thing …
Anyway. Big advantages: it is very easy to use. It brings you doorstep to doorstep. There are just a few flaws in the routing, but they can be ignored. And you can take it out of one car and put it in the next one (yeah, of course, that’s what portable navigation systems are supposed to do, but it is an advantage and I want to mention it here). Another big advantage is the built-in point of interest database - a very good feature if the fuel is about to be empty and you are in the middle of nowhere without a clue where the next gas station is.
The TomTom Go 910 is only a littlebit more expensive than the 710 version and if you want the full comfort of not switching cards, take the bigger version. It is worth it!

There’s something new on ape13: the categories are named different! Woohoo. Well, just kidding. Actually yes, they are labeled different. But the new thing is “the apes things” - a new category in which I will give reviews about things I have or use. And there were quite some things lately I got new.
First posting is for my new car. I had a Toyota Corolla Verso now for almost three years. And I have to say, this car was close to perfect. I liked the design, it was economical, had lots of space and so on. Since we bought company cars I was looking for a new car. It was clear for me it will be something like a family van again. Since the Corolla Verso had no new release there were other cars, better equiped that got my interest. Last two in choice were Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Qashqai (official UK-Site). Several reasons brought me to the second one.
First of all: I am happy with my choice (what else would I say after one week?). The design of the car is a nice, it looks a littlebit offroad-style. The features are amply. I like the built-in Bluetooth hands-free set, the panorama glass cieling, the heated mirrors which you can tilt aside and so on. But best thing is the comfort. Sitting in the qasqai feels like sitting in an easy chair.
The not-so-good thing is space. The Corolla Verso had much more of it. I am not talking about space for passengers, I am talking about storage space. Only one glove locker (but this one is cooled down) and a “hidden” panel underneath the pillion. One more thing I liked better about the Corolla Verso was the second power supply. And I think it was not a good idea to fit in leather seats in the highest equipped version. I don’t like leather seats (they get way to hot in summer) and so I can’t have keyless system, lights in the passenger mirror and some other minor goodies.
All in all, the ape likes his new car!

Again a movie post, and again on a Monday. But I have some new ideas for ape13 and soon there will be some changes, promised.
But before that: Yesterday I’ve been to the cinema again. And I saw Planet Terror. The second movie of the Grindhouse collaboration of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. While I liked Tarantino’s Death Proof, I loved Planet Terror. This was pure movie entertainment. Of course, if you like trash. I’d say if you enjoyed Death Proof and From Dusk Till Dawn, you can go and watch Planet Terror.
Anyway since today is such a nice weather, I’ll give it 10 out of 10 points.
And I want to say amazon is the best shop in the world. The service is great and if you have a problem (like if accidently ordered two times the same article) it is no problem to send it back without any troubles.
