Movie number two this week: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber From Fleet Street. This time it’s a littlebit hard for me. I am not a musical man. And Sweeney Todd is a musical, a cranky indeed, but still, a musical. Thats why I don’t give points for it. It would be like somebody, who doesn’t like wine rating wine.

But I want to give a brief review. Johnny Depp plays as good as expected, as Nicolson and Freeman, he is among the best actors of his age. Helena Bonham Carter is a great actress too … but most people don’t know her. She played in almost every Tim Burton movie Johnny Depp played too … and she was wonderful playing Marla in Fight Club. Tim Burton is a genius. Nobody understands how to transport emotions and atmosphere by picture as he does.

Well, that’s it. If you like musicals and weird movies about serial killers, go for Sweeney Todd.

Woohoo … this week I will see three movies in the cinema. Like in the good old days. First one was yesterday: The bucket list.

I think Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman are among the best actors of their age. It’s suprising they haven’t worked together so far (or am I wrong?). Anyway the bucket list is a realy good movie. It about two pretty different persons who suffer from cancer and know they will only have 6 months left to live. So they write a list of things they want to do before they “kick the bucket”. Sounds a littlebit lame, but it isn’t. Cancer is always present, but not in an annoying melodramatic way. Both actors play at their best, the script has only some weaknesses.

I’ll give it good 8 out of 10 points. Can’t wait until tonight: Sweeney Todd.

I’m a littlebit disappointed there are still neither Foo Fighters nor Radiohead there, but Rage and Porcupine Tree will be a blast for sure … hm … if we are a cool group, I think novarock 2008 is worth a visit.

A couple of months ago I recommended Desktop Tower Defense as a very good online game. Until now it won a couple of prizes, I’m really happy for the creators, I hope they will bring us lots of games like this soon.

Meanwhile we can play another game I found on Kongregate: Dolphin Olympics 2. Since I liked Tony Hawks skating game it really hooked me up to do and combine tricks with a dolphin. My highscore so far is 4,7 million points, but I haven’t made it to the restaurant yet. Have fun and get hooked!

A lot of things happened this weekend. What I’ll take with me, is: Don’t decide to save money on delivery service and use pickup, when the Kosovo declares independency … there was more than heavy traffic downtown …

On Saturday we played Settlers of Catan again. It is really interesting how balanced the game is with the new expansions.

Anyway I saw a cool movie too: Knocked Up. We somehow missed it in the theaters, so I thought Valentines Day is a good opportunity to give the DVD as a present to my girlfriend. On Friday we whatched it and really enjoyed it. A lightweight, but not shallow comedy about a very different pair who gets knocked up with each other because they are having a baby.

The creators are the same as in 40 years old virgin and some of the actors are the same too … I hope this team makes more comedies like this! I give it 9 out of 10 points.
