Yesterday I saw a Czech movie. I think this was the first time I saw one … hm … except some old fairy-tale movies. Anyway, I didn’t know a lot about the movie and I didn’t expect much.
After I saw it, I had mixed feelings. The first 10-15 minutes were a bit boring, later the story got better. In the end the movie was average. Not more, not less. I give it 5 out of 10 points.

Yesterday I was not to the movies (what a suprise), but to a cabaret. The artists were Stermann and Grissemann, two comedians, radio hosts, actors, authors, entertainer and and and. I’ve known them for quite a long time from Austrian radiochannel FM4. Sometimes they suck, sometimes they are funny as hell.
Yesterday I saw them live on stage for the first time. It was a really funny evening … BUT: I was a bit disappointed they showed most of their clips I know from youTube on a screen. I mean - the clips are hilarious, but if I go to a live show, I want a live show. Anyway, it was a cool evening.
To give you an impression, I put some links to youTube Clips (only in German) here:

To take it away: I was disappointed. I mean, I didn’t expect a brain-teaser, but at least a good Rambo movie. Which it was not. And it was way too short. The runtime-length of 91 minutes said on imdb are with the credits. I’d say it was only 75 minutes.
What I was missing, was a end fight before the REAL end fight (like in Rambo II). I mean, the end-fight was cool. More kills than in all other Rambos together (sounds crazy, I know, but who’s watching Rambo should know what he gets).
Anyway. I can only give 4 to 5 out of 10 points.

The Coen Brothers made one of my absolute favourite movies: The Big Lebowsky. Fargo and O Brother Where Art Thou? are also in my top list. Their latest two works Ladykillers and Intolerable Cruelty were just avarage. I thought now they have been overwhelmed by Hollywood. But now they are back … boy they are back.
No Country For Old Men is a Coen movie - 100%. It is definitly their most violent one, but there are these typical dialogues in it. I was amazed. So what is it about? It is a modern Western about a guy, who finds - in the middle of nowhere - a couple of bodies, several kilos of drugs and a bag full of money. Thinking this is his once-in-a-lifetime cance, he takes the money - and starts a chase he wouldn’t imagine.
Javier Bardem, who won the Academy Award for bes supporting Actor, played a psycho killer who is probably the most psycho in movie history (and has the coolest haircut since Sam Jackson in Pulp Fiction). I enjoyed this movie very much and give it 10 out of 10 points.

Wow … this weekend was packed: Poker, handworking (I usually hate it, but it was quite some fun), Cinema (No Country For Old Men), Sunday-afternoon coffee, Icehockey match and lots of talk with friends. I’m somehow exhausted …
Anyway this posting will ot be about any of these events (I just use the Black Wings Picture because I don’t know any other to use). It is about a person I don’t know who suprised me the most this weekend (in fact, I can’t really remember when I saw so much friendliness. On Saturday I was at the supermarket, in a hurry because it was about to close and I desperately needed some stuff for the weekend. At the cashier I registered, I forgot my wallet at home. Asking the Cashier lady if I can come bak in 3 minutes I got the typical Austrian friendlyness back: “No, we’re about to close”.
But then: The man right before me, who has never met me before and will probably never see me again, offered me to pay my bill and wait infront of the supermarket, so I can get my wallet and give him the money back. I could have just leave and never come back again. He had no warranty. This helpfulness impressed me a lot. There are nice people on this planet, who would believe in that?
