Last Friday was the premiere of the latest Indiana Jones movie. I’ve heard the worst of it and expected nothing, but in the end, I was positive suprised. It was a classical adventure movie, like the other three parts. I hope, they’ll do another one!
Probably Shia LaBeouf would be the main character then … he already did a good job acting next to Harrison Ford (who - after checking the list of his last movies - desperately needed a good movie).
For now, I can recommend this movie as nice popcorn-cinema and give it 7 out of 10 points.

Yesterday I saw Iron Man … a very high rated comic feature (at the moment the only movie among the Top 250 of IMDB from 2008). I have to admit, I liked it. It was funny, packed with action, had good actors (Robert Downey Jr good as always, Jeff Bridges is my special Superhero since Big Lebowski) and a message that is not too much stressed out.
But I wouldn’t go so far to give it the highest rating. I’d say 8 out of 10 points for a good action-cinema.
Oh .. btw. don’t leave the theatre right after the movie - there’s a cliffhanger for a sequel - with an actor you will know!

Again a movie. Again a good movie. A blast. Philip Seymour Hoffman is one of the best actors in Hollywood, I think I liked Ethan Hawke in all of his movies (I’ve seen so far) … the whole ensemble is chosen well. Before the devil knows you’re dead shows acting on a very, very high level. And it’s not boring (what some movies tend to be if somebody says the acting is great).
It’s the story of a family, told around a robbery that goes completely wrong. Sidney Lumet shows those kids in Hollywood how to make a good drama. 9 out of 10 points.
Once again they really messed up the german translation of the title … a friend said, all movies that start with “tödlich” (deadly) lets him think of a movie with Steven Seagal … there’s nothing to add.

Michel Gondry is a genious. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spottless Mind is one of my absolute favourite movies. Science Of Sleep - fantastic! And now Be Kind Rewind - wow!
The movie is a homage to Hollywood. And - at the same time - a criticism to the big hollywood studios. Jack Black plays the role of his life (well, he already did in Tenacious D, but this time again) … Mos Def shows great acting (I already liked him as Ford Prefect in The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy). The movie is funny as hell!
Great job, well done, 10 out of 10 points. I saw good movies the last two days!
Also check out the official movie website - its sweded!

Yesterday I saw Shoot ‘Em Up with the wonderful Monica Bellucci, the genious Clive Owen and fantastic Paul Giamatti. I was waiting for the movie to come to Europe ever since I heard from it. And then it was only one week in the theaters … no idea why. On big screen with high quality surround sound this movie has to be a blast.
I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it even more than Die Hard 4. It’s a fullpacked action movie with no meaning of realism, but cool main characters, funny and new (!!!) ideas (like a skydiving shootout).
10 out of 10 points.
