There are only a few movies I’ve seen twice in theatre. Besides Kill Bill - Volume 1, it was more like a coincidence than on purpose: American Pie, School of Rock, Lord of The Rings - The Return of the King. Weired list, isn’t it?

Anyway since yesterday there’s a new movie in the list: The Dark Knight. And this is not the only thing it has in common with Kill Bill. I was highly expecting both movies. When I saw them, I felt like “Wow that’s so cool”. A movie-experience I wouldn’t want to miss.

The Dark Knight is, in fact, one of the best movies I’ve seen so far. Heath Ledger (as said thousand times before) played as never before (and never again). The Joker is a maniac. Have I said No Country For Old Men has the meanest bad guy? Let me rectify this: The Joker is a villain nobody wants to be in the same city with.

The new Batman movie has more than the usual blockbuster cinema. And more than the usual “good movies”. It combines both. The ultimate fight between good and evil. And everything in between. Everything else but 10 out of 10 from me would be just wrong.

The Incredible Hulk

I like Edward Norton. Primal Fear was suprisingly good - especially because of Norton (and I think it was the first schizophrenic movie I saw). American History X, Fight Club, Keeping The Faith, Red Dragon and 25th Hour - it seemed like Norton does everything right. He was defenitely one of my favourite actors.

Then he did Italian Job, followed by Kingdom of Heaven. I was disappointed. In The Illusionist (which was actually pretty good, but never got released in Europe - why?) he played with Jessica Biel (one of my least favourite actresses). Now the Hulk? When I heard this, I thought its over.

On my Scandinavia trip I saw The Incredible Hulk. In the worlds largest THX theatre. And - I liked it. Turns out Norton fits to the silent Bruce Banner. The quick rating I gave a month ago should be changed. I give it 7 out of 10. I think the new Hulk movie is good action cinema - the first one (with Eric Bana) was not.

Wow … again a month without a posting. Damn, I’m lazy. I also haven’t finished the Scandinavia diary yet - my memories are fading, I should do that soon.

Anyway next week I’ll see The Dark Knight - very much looking forward to it. Batman Begins is one of my favourite movies!

Plus I finally saw Grindhouse as a double feature with the fake trailer between the movies: Liked it a lot - I think both movies work alone and together - Rodriguez and Tarantino have done a great job (though I still like Planet Terror a lot more).

The last couple of days ape13 was a bit destroyed, since my update didn’t work. Now all changes in the last days are deleted. My update in the Scandinavia diary as well as recnt posts and comments. Sorry for that, but I think it wasn’t too much.

Now everything works fine again (except the tag cloud, but I’m sure I’ll find something for that soon). Hopefully I can soon continue my Scandinavia diary (before I forget everything) and finally give reviews about Hulk the Incredible, Kill Buljo and Hancock (which I’ve seen this weekend).

Just a quick rating of the movies:

Hulk: 6 out of 10
Kill Buljo: 2 out of 10
Hancock 6 out of 10

I’ve created a new page with my diary from the Scandinavia trip. Until now it is only till day 3, but I hope I’ll find time to continue it soon. Read it here.

Meanwhile I will spend a weekend in Hungary, where we will celebrate Vera’s birthday. It was a lot of fun last year, so I hope this repeats.

Before I tell about the Scandinavia trip I already did another vacation-like … thing. Last weekend I was at the Attersee-Lake in the Alps to meet up with fellow students, enjoy the sun and have some BBQ (actually lots of).

It was fantastic. This year was the fifth time we did that and the first without rain at all (only on the way home actually a pretty hard storm, but that doesn�t count). Once again I was very happy we bought the new tent - its big, its easy to build up and its cosy (as cosy as a tent can be).

Anyway … I guess its boring for those who haven�t been there, but here are the pics.

Spain wins Europe Cup

Still no infos about my Scandinavia Trip, still no reviews about the movies I saw. Todays news is the result of the finale of the Europe Cup - Spain won against Germany. Germany was lucky with the draw for the final tournament. Nevertheless they didn’t show real good soccer … Spain on the other hand did. And Spain kicked out those lazy Italians - they make soccer to a farce, just counterattacks - lots of acting … anyway, congratulations to the Spain, well done, a worthy winner!

Back from Scandinavia

Wondering what I was doing the last two weeks? I was on a round-trip trough Southern-Scandinavia. Stations were: Kiel, Gothenborg, Oslo, Bergen, Preikestolen, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Lots of things done, lots of experiences … lot to tell … but right now I have to catch up with work, so my postings about the experiences (with lots of pictures) will have to wait a littlebit.

I also saw two movies: The Incredible Hulk and Kill Buljo … will give a short review about those also soon.

Austria vs. Croatia

Yesterday I saw a European Soccer Cup match live. And - fortunately - it was really good. Well, you can say a match is always good if you see it in the stadium, but this time Austria did a really good job I think. They just need someone in the forward-position who is able to finish well-played situations with a goal. But their good play in the match makes me hope Austria can collect points from Poland and (hopefully) from Germany and might be able to get to the Quarter Finals.

Obama for President

Yeah! The USA have a candidate for the election who I actually dare to change something. Now I hope they take the chance and vote somebody in the white house who wont go on with the politics of arbitrariness and stupidity.

I support Barack Obama and desperately hope to see an african american president in 2009. Go for it! Yes, you can!
